To load an ARA instance of Auto-Tune Pro, you must add it as an “Event FX” insert on a specific audio event. There are few ways to do so in Studio One.
Vocal harmonizer and autotune plugin Autotalent by Oli Larkin is a great real-time pitch correction auto-tune VST plug-in. The Autotalent plugin ensures that only the specified notes are hit. Use this auto-tune VST plugin to make Cher-like vocal effects, or use it as a simple pitch shifting / pitch correction audio effect. We'll work with volume automation to give our lead vocal life, as well as effects automation to add motion to delay reverb and modulation effects. The simplest way to do this is to press and hold down the “Option / Alt” key and then click and drag the VST3 version of Auto-Tune Pro from Studio One’s “Effects” menu onto an audio event.
Auto-Tune Pro will now open up with the audio data automatically tracked into Graph Mode:
An alternate method is to first click on an audio event and then click on the “Event FX” drop-down tab (triangle):
Click on the '+' to open the Event FX drop-down menu:

| what's up everyone? Hope everyone's new year is off to a good start.. Im just wondering if anyone knows of any good auto-tune plug ins we can buy that work well with studio one. I have artist 3.3. I saw melodyne but I think that is a little pricey, anyone have suggestions? thank you! |
| Melodyne doesn't do auto-tune. It does do pitch-correction but not live. One of the cheapest plugins that does auto-tune that I know of is Izotope's Nectar Elements. If you do a lot of work with vocals, I'd recommend getting the full Nectar 2 Suite as it gives you more control as well as a lot more functions, options, and effects. | Waves Tune is a great Melodyne alternative, and is very affordable, especially when on sale by itself or part of the Vocal Bundle. I actually prefer the interface to Melodyne's. It's similar where I want it to be and different where I want it to be. For the old set it and forget it kind of tuning, Waves Tune Real-Time does this. You set your scale, standard or custom set of notes, and then set how quickly you want the correction to be done, along with a bunch of other settings.
